Recycled!

I always save the cardboard rolls from paper towels and toilet paper for the girls to make art projects. I have a ton. I came across an idea to use them for thanks to
Allison and her awesome idea to make a flower garland from the rolls. Brilliant! Her blog is packed with great crafts we can all do check it out! A Glimpse Inside

This is what I did and made it my own! We have a bay window that I like to hang decorations in for birthday parties and holidays. So this was perfect for Spring, Easter and Abby's party! Super cute!

Make one too! It was fun, easy and the kids can help too if you want!

Here is a article to read about the dangers of windows and small children. These are friends of mine and their son fell out of a window. Read and share this with a friend.

New Pumas

I am so excited my new Pumas came last night. I got the Bio Trainer, it's like the Sketcher Shape Ups, except better looking. They were originally $89 but if you know me then you know I would never pay full price for anything other than a D&B purse but, that's another story. Anyways, the shoes were 33% off at Famous Footwear with free shipping. I also had promo code which brought my total to $55! But, because I'm cool and shop where I do Famous Footwear will send me a rebate for 13.5% of my order. So, next month I should get a check for just over $7 which brings my Final Price down to $47.00! SWEET! I wanted these badly but, couldn't justify spending extra money like that. I just feel guilty. So, I waited til I found a good deal and did a business portrait for my friend who paid me $50. I spent no new money and Mommy is Happy!

Pizza Pizza Pizza!

Pizza! Who doesn't love a good pizza and who knew it was so easy to make your own? It has been a long time since we have ordered pizza. We went from delivery to take and bakes to Boboli. From there we bought pizza dough in a can(not too bad,Philsbury is the best)and now we have been making our own. I never knew how easy and fun it was to make. It super cheap plus, it's a great way to spend some family time and get your kids cooking in the kitchen. The girls always enjoy rolling the dough and putting on the toppings. We have yet to be disappointed. I use a Betty Crocker recipe from the Big Red Cookbook, courtesy of my mother-in-law who gave this to me years ago I think to make sure I feed Lance some good cooking! Anyways, there are tons you can find on the internet. Here's a good one I found Pizza Recipe. Here's to making your own pizza! Good Luck!

We Made Beads

We made our own beads from polymer clay. The girls had a great time and it was so easy. I baked them in the oven at 275 for 15 mins. and then let them make bracelets. I'll definitely let them do this again. It wasn't expensive. I had a 40% off coupon for Micheals and got a pack of 12 colors for $6.00! It wasn't messy. The only thing that needed cleaning up was their fingers. They got to be creative. Plus, they didn't need my help. Which meant I could make some too! All in all for $6 bucks Crea and Abby had fun and it kept them busy for awhile.

I will live for my kids

I don't have the best parents in the world. My dad checked out when I was younger and my mom about 5 years ago. I've realize that they have their own issues that have nothing to do with me. I think God gave me these parents so I would know how to be a better one. Now, I'm not the best mother and I don't claim to be. I have made many mistakes but, I do the best I can. I know I still have a lot to learn about what it means to be mom and I welcome that. A friend said to me today that people will die for their kids but, will they live for them. Those words were very powerful to hear and I'm here to say, "I will live for my kids".

My Pledge

I pledge alligence to my children, Creanna, Abby & Ericson. I will love you. I will nourish you. I will encourage you to grow and take pride in yourself. I will dare you to dream and dare you to chase those dreams. I will let you blossom and when it's time I will let you go. Just know that I will never quit on you. I will always be your #1 fan and your loudest cheerleader as long as I am on this earth.

OMG! I can't believe it came out.

Abby has a favorite dress(really it's a fancy tank shirt that was her cousins)that
she wears like it's her job. I'm sure those with kids understand the "Favorite" outfit. Anyways, a few weeks ago she was playing across the street and I think they had silly putty because I remember her giving what she had in her hand back to the Dad. Well, Monday I noticed 2 lines of ruffles were stuck together pretty good. I must of washed and dried it at least 5 times before I even knew it was there! So, now it's really glued and I'm going to have to hide or toss this "dress" before Abby realizes it's missing. I had one trick up my sleeve to try first before I did anything drastic. I soaked it for 20 mins. in a heavy degreaser then poured my "liquid gold" one capful at a time on the areas with the putty. Within minutes that putty was peeling up and I used my fingernails to get it all off! I challenge anyone to find were that putty was on that "dress"!

A quick review of last week

I know it's almost Wednesday and I'm talkin about last week but, whatever I wanted to share. I made my first ever batch of cinnamon rolls but, I screwed up right from the start. It helps to read directions carefully. Especially, when you are baking! The yeast directions said to mix on low for 30 secs then on high for 3 mins. Well, after the 30 secs, not thinking I added the flour without mixing it on high for 3 mins. I would have started over but, I only had one pack of yeast so I made them anyway. The one thing I did notice was it took longer to rise but, they actually tasted pretty good. I'm going to try again. The right way. I'll see if they come out any different. It was kinda nice one day and the girls jumped on the trampoline. Fresh air is always good.
Ericson also learned to climb but, has no idea about the getting down part. So, that's been fun. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to keep up with him!

We also celebrated his first birthday. We had dinner with the family and he got to play with his cousins. Auntie gave him a cool riding toy that was a big hit!

Potty Dance Party

I won a Pull Ups Potty Dance party from Houseparty.com. It's a pretty cool site where you can apply to host different parties. They change all the time. If you win they'll send you a party package that will include free swag for you and your guests. Fun, right?

My party package included Potty Dance dvds, stickers, Pull Up coupons, enjoy the ride reward points, coloring pages and dance instructions posters for the guest. As the host I received all of the above plus a pack of Pull Ups and a 1GB jump drive loaded with potty info.

The kids had a lot of fun dancing and coloring and I have had the Potty Dance song stuck in my head all day.

Everyone should visit Houseparty.com and check it out. You might find a party for you!

Chicken Patties

So it's getting time for me to make a grocery run. The freezer is looking pretty sad, which made for an interesting dinner tonight. One thing that I almost always have in my freezer though is frozen breaded chicken patties. I don't even buy chicken nuggets for the kids anymore. I just cut these up for them. I'll put mine on a salad or make a chicken sandwich. I was looking around the web and came across this site that had a bunch of ways to use patties. Enjoy!

Baby Wipes

We ran out of baby wipes the other night and instead of hopping in the car to make a
Target run, that would end up costing me way more than the 1 box of wipes I went for, I decided to make my own. I haven't done the math but, I'm pretty sure my box of 100 only cost me a little over a $1. Plus, the best part is I know exactly what I am putting on my baby's tushie. No bleach, ammonia, or chlorine! It was super easy.
A few products, a roll of paper towels and a container for storage. I recycled my old wipe container but, you could use any plastic storage with a lid. The hardest part was pulling the cardboard out from the middle!

I encourage you to make your own. It was so easy! I should of done this a long time ago! Like 2 babies ago!

Giant Snowman

It has been snowing here for a couple of days now. While it is pretty to look at
I absolutely HATE the snow. It's too much work. The kids running in out. My baby who wants to be out with his sisters but, really shouldn't. Little puddles of water everywhere that I step in with fresh dry socks. Ugg! This is how I feel about the snow.

The good news is that Lance was off yesterday so, he was on snow playin duty. He and the girls built an awesome snowman. The best I've seen on Holly LN yet! I'm glad the girls got to spend time with their Dad and make some good memories. Crea is so proud of their work.

The snowman was heavy leaning yesterday we'll see how long he stays up! More snow on Sunday then on to Spring! Okay, wishful thinking!

Yum!

I'll just say the banana bread was more popular than the pork roast. Maybe
it was the chocolate chips!

On The Menu

Today is off to a good start. My girlfriend came by this morning with her daughter. We
had some coffee while the girls jumped on the trampoline. Now on to dinner. This is
what the Davis crew will be eating tonight: Pork Roast with Mashed Potatoes and Salad.
I'm going to make the Curious George Banana Bread for dessert and add some chocolate
chips for fun. Sounds yummy to me! I'll let you know how it turns out.
Looking forward I have Beef Stroganoff, Chicken Pot Pie and Home Made Pizzas
planned for the rest of the week.
I'm always looking for new recipes to try. Feel free to share any good ones! Keep in mind
I like fat and butter.

Curious George

Yesterday I took Crea, Abby and Ericson to see Curious George
at our local library. It was a good time and everyone had fun.
They got to make Curious George masks, color pictures and take a
picture with him. Abby was scared so she waved and said "Hi"
from a safe distance. Crea was a little nervous too but, eventually
got close enough for a picture. We checked out a Curious George movie
and got McDonalds for lunch. A very nice afternoon I must say! If you
don't already, you should take advantage of your local library. They often
host fun events and storytimes for the children. My kids have yet to
be disappointed. Plus, it's FREE fun and that is hard to come by these days!
